I will never understand why Kelis' unique sound and crazy iconic style has never broken into American culture. Kelis is HUGE oversees, but she is definitely overlooked in the United States. Kelis' album "Kelis Was Here" was played by me non-stop in high school. Somebody write this chica another hit. Her short hair cut inspired me to finally be free with my hair and chop my tresses for the first time in 2010. Here's my ode to Kelis.
